Been kicked out?

If you're over 16 and your parents or carers want you out of the house, you'll probably have to go. If you're in this situation, our moving home checklist can help.

Scared to go home?

If you feel unsafe or in danger at home it may be best to leave straightaway. But try to contact an adviser before you go and arrange some emergency housing in advance.

Does the Housing Executive have to help?

If you have nowhere to stay, the Housing Executive may have to help you. You don't have to be sleeping on the street to get help, and applying as homeless isn't the same thing as going on the waiting list.

Can social services help?

If you're under 18, have been in care in the past, or have a disability, you may be entitled to help from social services. Contact a local advice agency if you can't get them to help you.

Somewhere to stay tonight?

Your first stop should be the Housing Executive. Otherwise, read our pages on emergency housing. Stay safe if you find yourself sleeping on the streets, and get help and advice immediately.

Help with housing costs?

If you've had to move in an emergency you could apply for a crisis loan. A budgeting loan could also help you manage your housing costs.
