Case selection policy Print E-mail

Housing Rights is unable to undertake to assist in every case presented to it. Prior to agreeing to take on a case on behalf of a client, the following criteria will be considered:

  • whether the case falls under our core area of work,
  • whether the case is of appropriate complexity,
  • whether a satisfactory resolution is achievable,
  • what is the potential consequence to client,
  • what is the strategic importance of the case,
  • is there a duplication of service with another agency,
  • is there a conflict of interest,
  • would a different agency be more appropriate to deal with the case,
  • what is the level of risk, and
  • timing of referral.
