Another chance with Co-ownership Print E-mail

Co-ownership traditionally works only with first time buyers.  In October 2011, Co-ownership began a pilot scheme to assist people who have previously purchased a house, but are not currently homeowners, return to the market and get back on the property ladder.  The pilot scheme will initially run until March 2012.

Application criteria

 To be considered for Another Chance, you must have:

  • No mortgage
  • No property to sell
  • No interest in any property, in this country or abroad
  • Concluded any settlement arrangements from any previous relationships
  • No unpaid debt relating to a previous mortgage.
You must be completely clear of any past property ownership connection at the time of your application.

How to apply

If you wish to apply for Another Chance, you must make an application in the same wasy as you would for the standard Co-ownership scheme. 

You must meet the general Co-ownership applicant criteria as well as the additional criteria imposed on Another Chance applicants.  You can find out more about the applicant criteria by attending one of Co-ownership's information evenings. Contact Co-ownership to find out when the next information evening is happening.
