If you rent your home from the Housing Executive or a housing association and wish to move to a new place, there are several options open to you. These include applying for a transfer within Northern Ireland or exchanging your home with another Housing Executive or housing association tenant.

Transfers to another home in Northern Ireland

If you want to move to a new home within Northern Ireland, you can apply for a transfer . You can ask to be transferred to a property owned by the Housing Executive or a housing association.

Swapping your home

You can exchange your home with another Housing Executive or housing association tenant. You can only carry out the exchange if you get your landlord's permission.
