Most Housing Executive and housing association tenants are allowed to transfer from or exchange their property. If you apply for a transfer you will be pointed using the Selection Scheme. You will usually have to go on the waiting list.

If you apply to exchange your accommodation you must find someone to swap accommodation with. You can only exchange your accommodation if the Housing Executive or housing association gives you permission.

Getting a transfer

You can apply for a transfer if you want to move to another Housing Executive or housing association home. You will be assessed and pointed using the Selection Scheme. You will usually only be allowed to apply if you pass five criteria. More arrow

Housing Executive exchanges

You can only exchange your Housing Executive property if you get the Housing Executive's permission. You can swap your home with another Housing Executive tenant or a housing association tenant. More arrow
