Will I always get a grant?
Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

You can always apply for a disabled facilities grant and a repairs grant. The Housing Executive targets the other grants at people, areas and properties that need the most help.

Due to a funding shortfall, the Housing Executive is currently prioritising grants awards. This means that some grants may be generally unavailable until further funds are secured. The Housing Executive may not agree to accept any new preliminary enquiries while their grants programme is affected by the funding shortfall.

Outline of targeting scheme

The Housing Executive grants scheme is designed to help those properties that most need help. You can always apply for a disabled facilities grant and a repairs grant. More arrow

Geographical targeting

You are more likely to get a grant if you live in certain areas that the Housing Executive has targeted as needing extra help. Your local Grants Office can tell you if you live in a targeted area. More arrow

Condition based targeting

The Housing Executive targets grant aid at improving standards in properties which are in the worst condition. You are more likely to get a grant if your home is unfit for human habitation. More arrow

Personal circumstances

The Housing Executive targets grant aid at people who most need the grant to improve the condition of their home. You are more likely to get a grant if the Housing Executive decides that you are vulnerable. More arrow

Prioritisation of grants

The Housing Executive only actively promotes grants in the targeted geographical area. There is also a system for prioritising grants if the Housing Executive has to limit the number it can award. For example, because of a lack of money in the budget. More arrow
