Help with paying your rates Print E-mail

You receive automatic rate relief in your rates bill if your home is valued at more than £400, 000.  The discount appears automatically on your rates bill so you don't need to apply.

Transitional rate relief ceased on 1 April 2010. Ratepayers who received this rate relief in previous years, now pay the full rates bill.

Maximum cap

If the capital value of your home is more than £400,000, your rates bill is capped. This means that your rates are based on the maximum capital value of £400,000, regardless of the actual value of your home.

You do not have to apply for this discount. Land & Property Services will make the discount before sending your rates bill.

If you do not qualify for automatic rate relief, check if you are entitled to application-based rate relief.
