How long will I receive this relief?

If you were in receipt of ETLC relief, or made an application before 1 December 2009, you will continue to receive it for up to three years from this date.

Your entitlement during these 3 years will not end provided that your circumstances stay the same:

• you continue to live in the same property that you lived in when you applied,
• the property continues to be occupied by eligible persons who lived there before 1 December 2009.

If your circumstances change, you must inform Land & Property Services. They will also carry out an annual review each year to ensure that your eligibility remains unchanged.

If you are studying medicine or a course longer than three years, Land & Property Services may extend your entitlement beyond three years, to ensure you get appropriate relief until your course is finished.
