If you own or rent your home from a private landlord you may be able to get a grant to help you carry out repairs to your home. Specialist agencies may be able to help you with your application.
Even if you don't want o apply for a home improvement grant you may be able to apply for a crisis loan, community care grant or budgeting loan.
Housing grants
If you own your home or rent from a private landlord you may be able to get a grant from the Housing Executive to carry out repairs to maintain the standard of your home. You can't apply for a grant if you are a Housing Executive or housing association tenant. Due to budget restrictions the Housing Executive will currently only approve grants in exceptional circumstances. These restrictions do not affect the award of Disabled Facilities Grants or Repairs Grants. More 
Energy efficiency
If you own or rent you home from a private landlord you may be able to get help from the Warm Homes Scheme to make your home warmer and more energy efficient. More 
Help with adaptations
There are two agencies in Northern Ireland who can help you apply for a home improvement grant – Shelter Northern Ireland and Fold Housing Trust. You will usually only get help if you are an older person or have a disability. More

You may be able to get support to help you stay in your home. A local advice agency can help you work out what support is available in your area. More
