Waiting time and offers

Because of the shortage of social housing some people will wait a very long time before they get offered a property.  You could have a long wait, even if you passed the 4 homeless tests and are legally homeless.

Waiting for an offer

The best way to increase your chance of getting an offer is to either:

  • try to increase the number of points you’ve been given [1] or
  • change your areas of choice [2] to a less popular area or an area with more available social housing
  • apply for a property advertised as part of the Housing Executive's choice based lettings pilot [3].
