Illegal eviction

You must follow due process of law when evicting a tenant. If you aren't careful in following the correct legal procedure you could be found guilty of carrying out an illegal eviction.

When you rent a property it becomes your home. Your landlord must respect that the property is your home and must observe the proper legal procedures when entering the property or trying to reclaim possession of it.

Your landlord has to follow the right process to evict you. They have to give you written notice and then take you to court if you don't move out.

It's illegal to try to evict a tenant without going through the proper steps.

Your landlord must follow the correct legal procedure in order to evict you. On rare occasions, a landlord may try to force you out of the property or change the locks while you are out. This is an illegal eviction and your landlord can be prosecuted for this action.

Having children or being pregnant means you have to think about your additional responsibilities when finding a home. It can be tough, however make sure you get your housing situation under control.
